Tiny Acts of Love

I was on a cross-country flight last week.. There was a baby sitting near me. She did an amazing job on the flight. She barely cried. (I, on the other hand, who was going to visit my mother, whose health is failing, cried much more than the baby. )

But, as we were getting off the plane, there were all these older men trying to make the baby smile, and it was working; the baby loved it. And gosh, it made me happy. The whole scene was just lovely.

People who go out of their way to make babies smile are my type of people.

Then, as I was exiting the plane, I saw this older couple holding hands. They were walking in front of me and kind of slowly. I thought for a minute about walking around them, but their hand-holding was making me happy too. So I stepped back behind them and slowed down.

These little acts of love feel more important to me than ever now.
